According to reports, WhatsApp will shortly stop supporting iOS 10 and iOS 11.

WhatsApp typically drops support for older versions of Android and iOS in order to introduce new functionalities that may not work on those operating systems.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will shortly stop supporting iOS 10 and iOS 11. While the reasons for the change are unknown, the instant messaging service frequently discontinues support for earlier versions of Android and iOS in order to offer new features that may not work on those platforms.

According to screenshots obtained by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will cease to support iOS 10 and iOS 11 on October 24, 2022. This is further corroborated by a look at the WhatsApp Help Center, which lists iOS 12 and newer versions as supported and recommended operating systems, but makes no mention of older iOS versions.

Users running iOS 10 or iOS 11 will need to update to iOS 12 to continue using WhatsApp; this implies that the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C will not be able to use it. Updating to a newer version of an operating system is particularly crucial because it usually includes the most latest software updates and security measures.

This news comes just days after it was revealed that WhatsApp Desktop is developing a feature that would allow users to get account information without needing to use the programme on their phones. Despite the fact that it already allows users to download all of the information it collects about them, it is still only available on mobile unless you are using a beta version of the desktop interface.

WhatsApp began testing a feature earlier this month that allows users to quit groups silently without informing the other members of the group. You'll be able to leave any WhatsApp group you wish once the upgrade is rolled out widely, and only the group's admin will be alerted of your departure.
