Apple has confirmed that its fall iPhone event will take place on September 7.
The event, which is expected to include the release of the iPhone 14 and the next-generation Apple Watch, is set to begin at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 7. It will be live-streamed on Apple.com and the Apple TV app, but the company will also host a small number of attendees at its Apple Park headquarters in Cupertino.
This year's event's tagline is "Far out," so place your bets on what that means. Zoom on the camera? What about the long-rumored satellite connectivity? We won't know for sure until next month.

The event is taking place earlier than usual; last year's iPhone 13 event took place on September 14. The pandemic the previous year pushed the iPhone 12 reveal into October. However, as Bloomberg's Mark Gurman points out, Apple gains "an additional week of iPhone 14 sales in its fiscal fourth quarter" by announcing the phone on September 7 and releasing it on September 16.
According to Gurman, Q4 2021 sales were up 21% over 2020, which may be difficult to beat this year, so "another week of iPhone 14 sales should help the company easily beat last year's $83 billion mark."
We have a full rumour roundup here for what the new iPhones will include. According to reports, Apple Watch 8 will have more colour options(Opens in a new window), an all-new design(Opens in a new window), and other features.
We'll almost certainly get a release date for iOS 16, though iPadOS 16 has reportedly been delayed to fix some bugs.
