The Bajaj Chetak 2022 could debut shortly at a reasonable price

Bajaj revealed a 300 crore rupee investment plan for its new electric vehicle manufacturing in Akurdi, Pune, India, last month.

At full capacity, the business intends to produce more than 5 lakh EVs annually. As local components will be used to build the EVs, it will indeed lower production costs, which will result in a lower pricing. In light of these developments, a report claims that the next Bajaj Chetak 2022 may debut shortly and provide consumers a cost-effective alternative.

According to reports, Bajaj would entirely produce its upcoming electric vehicles in India. According to the report, the new Bajaj Chetak will have a constant output of 4.0kW and a peak power of 4.2kW. This has a higher continuous output of 3.8kW and a higher peak power of 4.08kW than the current Chetak.

As per reports, the business may launch the Chetak 2022 this time with locally produced components, which might lower its price. Recall that other EV manufacturers in India offer their EVs for roughly Rs. 1 lakh, in contrast to the Bajaj Chetak's price of Rs. 1.48 lakhs.

In related news, a report stated that Indian vehicle sales have increased by 240 percent year over year. Over 50,800 EVs were purchased in total in December 2021, a 21 percent increase from the 42,055 EVs purchased in November. Despite this, we anticipate that the Indian EV industry will expand even more in 2018.
