In January 2020, Indian automaker Bajaj introduced its first electric scooter, the Bajaj Chetak. Until now, the scooter has only been offered to clients in Bangalore and Pune.
However, because Bajaj has made it available in 20 cities across the country, a larger consumer base may now enjoy this EV.The move is intended to stimulate sales of the 2020 Chetak electric scooter, which has gotten a lacklustre response due to its relatively high price tag in comparison to its specs, features, and performance. Pre-orders for the EV are now being taken in Coimbatore, Madurai, Kochi, Kozhikode, Hubli, Visakhapatnam, Nashik, Vasai, Surat, Delhi, Mumbai, and Mapusa. The Chetak 2020 now has a four-eight week waiting period and may be booked online through the Bajaj chertak website or through an offline dealership.

Bajaj is even said to be expanding the presence of its electric scooter in preparation for the upcoming Chetak 2022 model, which is expected to launch in the coming days and will have better essential features that the 2020 model lacks, such as fast charging, while also being priced lower than its predecessor.
According to reports, the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter 2022 model would be totally built in India and will include an enhanced motor capable of delivering 4.2kW of peak power and 4.0kW of continuous output.

The Chetak is equipped with a front trailing link suspension and 12-inch alloy wheels wrapped in MRF Zapper tyres.
