Since quite some time, there have been rumours of a new Xiaomi flagship phone series that will replace the Xiaomi 12-series. The Xiaomi 12S phone series, which will debut on July 4 in China, will be

Xiaomi's next-generation flagship series, the company has now formally announced. Three smartphones will be part of the Xiaomi 12S series. The standard Xiaomi 12S model is one among them, along with the more expensive Xiaomi 12S Pro and Xiaomi 12S Ultra variants.

The new phones are also the first flagship models that Xiaomi and German camera manufacturer Leica will release together. Although little is known about the new features or capabilities that Leica camera sets will bring, all three of the new Xiaomi 12S devices are anticipated to include them.

Through a few of official pictures, Xiaomi also unveiled a sneak peek of the three upcoming phones. See them listed below.

The Xiaomi 12S will reportedly be a sleek yet premium flagship, the Xiaomi 12S Pro will be the brand's new flagship minimum, and the Xiaomi 12S Ultra will be the "new height of mobile imaging flagship," according to a report by GSMArena. Specifications for all three phones are yet unknown.

With less than a week until the launch, additional official information about the phone is expected to emerge in the days ahead of July 4, when we will learn the full specifications of the new phones.

According to earlier rumors, Xiaomi has been developing at least one flagship device that uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 CPU. The recent announcements imply that this might be the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, while the 12S and 12S might have a different chip.

The big camera island on the back of this next Xiaomi phone, which takes up a sizeable amount of the rear panel, was also visible in leaks of the smartphone. The camera modules for the 12S Pro and 12S Ultra are concealed in the official images above, so we are unsure if both of those variants will feature the distinctive design.

Additionally, even if there is no confirmation of the Xiaomi 12S series' global availability in nations like India, we anticipate the phone to be on sale in this country a few months from now.
